Augusta, GA, is the second-largest metropolitan city in the state of Georgia. It anchors the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), which includes cities, towns, and census-designated places (CDP) in 13 counties in Georgia and eight in South Carolina.

Augusta’s downtown district includes several prominent education and medical employers, including Augusta University and the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, both part of the public Georgia college system; University Hospital; and the Augusta VA Hospital; as well as a number of local businesses.
